Welcome to Spanish Fork High School

After Spanish Fork High School’s victory against Salem Hills, students and families were treated with an after party on wheels. A nationally recognized band called “This Is Your Band” came in on a semi truck with their lead guitarist Guy Golightly. Guy Golightly is recognized for his talent with the guitar, rated as one of the top ten players in the nation. Local members sang and danced along with their neighbor rocking his guitar.“This Is Your Band” has been playing all over the United States. Spanish Fork was lucky to have such a great band play on their field.

Last week, students from Spanish Fork High gathered in the commons area during lunch to sign up for the new clubs. Many clubs from past years returned, while others were making their big entrance. Students excitedly went around looking at what each club had to offer. Some of the returning clubs included Masque Club, Key Club, Hope Squad, Red Revival, and the Ping Pong Club. Masque Club is a club for anyone interested in acting and having fun. It is a way to get students out of their bubble and to become more comfortable in the world of acting. Key Club is a club based on service.

The Region 8-leading Spanish Fork Dons shot their best score of the year on Monday, but it was not enough to beat Uintah’s 301 at Talons Cove. Despite the 12 stroke defeat, the Dons lead region play by a commanding 36 strokes heading into next week’s final match at Gladstan. Salem Hills is 40 strokes behind S.F. In the overall individual standings, Uintah’s Alex Baldridge leads the Dons’ David Madsen by 14 shots. In third place is McKay Parr of Salem Hills. Elliot Naulu and Bryce Whitaker, both of S.F., round out the top five.

Spanish Fork High School has a new reputation. Spanish Fork High School has the highest number of students in concurrent enrollment for fall semester in Nebo School District and Distance Learning classes. SFHS has 487 students signed up in concurrent enrollment;that's 122 more than the second highest enrollment number. Spanish Fork High School students know how take advantage of educational opportunities. Concurrent enrollment is the process where students take a collage level class, in high school, and get both high school and Utah Valley University credit.

The Spanish Fork Dons won their fourth consecutive region golf meet last week. This time it was at Hobble Creek golf course that they had their success. Elliot Naulu led his team with a 77. Bryce Whitaker followed that with 78. Dave Madsen shot 80 and Brennin Orr shot 83. Kelby McMullin of Springville had the best score of the day, 76. The win gives the Dons a comfortable cushion in the overall region standings with just two matches remaining. They lead Salem Hills, Uintah, and Maple Mountain, respectively. The individual race is a bit tighter.
