Finding a Future through Internships

Submitted by deon.youd on

Students at Spanish Fork High School are working in the career of their choice already. They are training through Spanish Fork's internship program.

The students are placed in interships according to what career they want to go into. For example, students who want to go into education will work in elementary schools. A student who wants to do culinary arts will work at Kneaders or another restaurant. Those who want to enter the medical field will go to a doctor's office, hospital, or health care center.

SFHS Pledges to Reach Out

Submitted by deon.youd on

SFHS students were challenged at an assembly on September 27, 2013 to reach out to others and be a genuine friend through a program known as RDI.

"I think the RDI can help a lot because there are a lot of lonely people, and if we get more people involved, they will all be friends," said SF student Mariah Cook.

RDI is an accronym. R stands for reach across the divide. D reminds students to discover what is interesting about others, and I encourages students to invite others to be part of something.

The National Honor Society at Spanish Fork High School has been busy making plans for a year full of service.

"As part of the NHS, it is our job to help the community. We have a big group this year, so I feel we can do more service and help more people," said committee leader and junior at SFHS, Paige Burnham.

The NHS is a national organization that does service projects around the community and around the school.
