Several second semester Computer Technology students have earned certificates from Microsoft. These students have demonstrated mastery of Microsoft PowerPoint by passing a test. This certificate is well-recognized in the business community.

SF FFA Celebrates FFA Week

Members of Spanish Fork FFA celebrated National FFA Week last week by planning daily activities such as reading to elementary school students, cleaning up around the school and visiting the Veteran’s Home. Members and students were given a punch card and encouraged to participate each day with completers being put in a drawing for $50.

Homeless for a Night

Registration is underway for the 5th annual Homeless for a Night event on February 27-28. Students can sign up at the SFHS finance office or at the finance office of any Nebo School District high school. Cost for the event is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. 

Homeless for a Night is a charity fundraiser where students give up the comforts of home for one night to raise awareness and money for Tabitha's Way, a Spanish Fork-based food pantry and thrift store. Tabitha's Way helps those in our area who are in need of food and clothing.

Sterling Scholar Finalists

Three SFHS sterling scholars are headed to the final round of competition. They competed this week in the semi-final round and were selected as finalists.

Nathan Nelson is a sterling scholar finalist for Mathematics, Kaitlin Hallam represents Skilled and Technical Sciences, and Morgan Harrison will compete in the Dance finals. The final round of interviews will be held on February 24.

This is the 54th annual Sterling Scholar competition. The program is sponsored by the Deseret News and KSL-TV.
