Utah State FFA Convention was held at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and this year’s convention didn’t disappoint; especially for Spanish Fork. Students from Spanish Fork High School not only had fun mingling with students from all over the state, but many also competed in various competitions, learned from state and national officers including our very own state president Chaleesa Warren, and in the end represented Spanish Fork by winning well deserved awards including State Star Farmer; perhaps the biggest award an individual can win at the state level.

We had a little question and answer session with Gentry to find out exactly what it takes to make it to the state finals. Gentry has been playing the cello since sixth grade. She practices almost every day for at least an hour a day. On weekends, she practices for two and a half hours. A few weekends ago, she went to Snow College and tried out for a music scholarship there.
