At Spanish Fork High School, many students are developing necessary skills for future careers through the Future Business Leaders of America Club. As the name says, this club is geared toward helping students to learn more about business and teaching them to be better leaders. Recently, members of FBLA attended a leadership conference in Provo. McKenzie Berns, and officer in FBLA, enjoyed attending this conference. “We went over to Provo and listened to some speakers. They spoke to us about how to be good leaders and how to get people more FBLA Trains Leaders involved.” Through this conference, students were able to learn more about leadership through the experience of others. Spanish Fork High School’s DECA club has been getting involved early in the school year. DECA is a marketing club where the members can learn more about not only marketing but business in general as well. The main purpose of the club is to prepare the club members for their future in a business related career. The officers of DECA are Tanner Holt, Tyler Galt, Preston McConnell, Matthew Christensen, and Riley Strong. These officers recently returned from a fall leadership conference called “Momentum.” They also recently returned from a field trip with another business club at the school where they went around to different businesses. Tanner Holt, the president of DECA said, “It’s a good club to help prepare not only business skills but leadership skills as well.” The club is still growing and working hard to have a great year!
