BYU Invitational

The track teams competed at the BYU invitational over the weekend.  The Boys team finished in a tie for 8th place (3rd amongst all 4A teams) out of 61 schools.

Top Performances:
​Michael Whittaker took 2nd place in the javelin with a new school record throw of 195' 9.5"  He is ranked 18th in the nation in the javelin.

Heston Andersen finished in 4th place in the 800M with a time of 1:56.01 (2nd all time at SFHS). He also lowered his 1600 time to 4:21.09 which is also 2nd all time at SFHS.

Isaac Pendleton made the final in the 100, 200 and 400.  He was the only kid in the state to accomplish this.  He finished 9th in the 100 and ran a personal best time of 11.06 (6th all time SFHS), finished 6th in the 200 with a new personal best of 22.27 (4th all time SFHS) and 6th in the 400M in a time of 50.23.

Tanner Olsen (just a 9th grader) set personal bests in the 800 2:06.82 and 1600 4:38.72

Courtney Anderson had the best showing for the girls by achieving season best times in both the 100m hurdles and the 300m hurdles.

We compete in our region meet this Wednesday and Thursday at Salem Hills high school. good luck to our awesome track team!
