High school rodeo came to a surprising close this week when the last rodeo of the season was cancelled because of a horse disease spreading in Utah. We don’t know much about the disease but it is very contagious and has killed a horse.
Last week wraps up the points before heading into state finals: Savannah Pratt is sitting 12th in barrels overall and 22nd in breakaway. LaShae Petersen is sitting in a three way tie for 9th in breakaway and 9th in goat tying. Ryli Sutch is 2nd in the steer wrestling event and 23rd in calf roping. Dallin Kemp is sitting 3rd in the state in calf roping. State finals is the second week of June this year and the top ten in each event will proceed to Fallon, Nevada and the top four in each state will go to nationals.
