KJZZ visited Spanish Fork High School on Thursday, October 3, 2013 for the high school football "Game of the Week." The Dons were defeated by the Timpview T-birds 56-7, but despite the score, the crowd's spirit was high.
"We had a strong fan base even though we lost," said Caiden Certonio, junior at SFHS.
The highly favored Timpview dominated the Dons from the very beginning. The T-birds scored two touchdowns in the first quarter to leave the score 14-0.
Timpview scored another four times in the second quarter to leave Spanish Fork down 42-0 at the half.
But Spanish Fork never gave up. A 69-yard run by quarterback Jason Money in the fourth quarter put 7 on the board for the Dons.
Students who came out to support the Dons had a good time despite the loss.
