The Region 8-leading Spanish Fork Dons shot their best score of the year on Monday, but it was not enough to beat Uintah’s 301 at Talons Cove. Despite the 12 stroke defeat, the Dons lead region play by a commanding 36 strokes heading into next week’s final match at Gladstan. Salem Hills is 40 strokes behind S.F. In the overall individual standings, Uintah’s Alex Baldridge leads the Dons’ David Madsen by 14 shots. In third place is McKay Parr of Salem Hills. Elliot Naulu and Bryce Whitaker, both of S.F., round out the top five. On Monday, Baldridge shot 74, Madsen had 76, Parr came in with 75, Naulu shot 79, and Whitaker shot 77. Other local golfers playing well Monday include Payson’s T.J. Ricks, 79, Springville’s Kelby McMullen, 80, and S.F.’s Kade Measom and Salem Hills’ Harley McNeil, 81.
