Choir Members Prepare for Concert 345.96 KB
Elmo Keck, a former SFHS choir teacher, will be a guest conductor at the SFHS Fall Choir Concert on Oct. 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Spanish Fork High School auditorium. Students have been preparing for this concert that will highlight some of the songs they will be singing on tour this year. This is the first time that Mr. Keck has been back to Spanish Fork High School to be a part of the award-winning excellence of SFHS choirs. The choirs will be performing an entertaining array of folksongs from around the world. Students are looking forward to performing with the much-beloved conductor and encourage everyone to be a part of this exciting reunion. There is a $1.00 requested donation at the door. The choir is reaching out to the community for support for their Seattle, Washington, tour in March. Mr. Bradshaw, the choir teacher, has come up with some fundraising projects for the students to earn some money to put in their tour funds. Students are selling jewelry, cookie dough-an all-time big seller, and Christmas items. The cookie dough is perfect for friends or family when you don’t feel like taking the time to make the dough. You just pull it out of the freezer and put it in the oven. The cookies taste delicious. With Christmas coming up, the wrapping paper is a necessity. This wrapping paper is not like any other wrapping paper. It’s full of fun designs and of good quality. Prices range from $5.00-$30.00. Other items you might want to buy are Spanish Fork High School beanies. They come in red, black, or white with a stripe and SF on the front. These will be perfect for when the cold weather hits. To purchase these or any of the other selling items, contact a SFHS choir student or come to the yard sale which will be held Saturday, Oct. 9 on the Nebo School District Office lawn, 350 South Main, Spanish Fork. It will start at 7:00 a.m. Choir students will be set up with many items and need your help with donations. You never know, you may find something you want for a great price.
