Teacher of the Year - Mrs. Ward 198.36 KB
Mrs. Trina Ward, a math Educator at Spanish Fork High School, was recently named Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Ward has been teaching for 13 years, but this is her 3rd year at Spanish Fork High School. In her time at SFHS, she has become a beloved teacher and staff member. I had the chance to get to know Mrs. Ward. She received her Bachelor’s in Mathematic’s Education at BYU, and is currently working in the Master’s Program at BYU. She is the Math Department Chair, member of the School Community Council, and has served on the Intervention Committee. Kaitlin Shepherd a student at Spanish Fork High school said, “Mrs. Ward has been one of my favorite teachers. She is always willing to help other students and takes time to go the extra mile to make sure every student has an equal chance to succeed.” Sure to be spoken, everyone can agree that Mrs. Ward is a teacher who with no doubt deserved this award. But what is it that makes her such a phenomenal teacher? Is it the time she spends supervising the math lab? Is it her involvement in the Math 1050 program? While all these things contribute, after talking to students, it is very obvious that the reason Mrs. Ward has become such a phenomenal teacher is because of her dedication to teaching, and the dedication she has made to the students that not only she has, but others who go to her for extra help in the math lab. She has made Spanish Fork High School an even better place to learn and grow. And we all thank her very much for the contribution she has made to the school, the math department and to the students. We congratulate her with this award and wish her luck as she continues to grow and help the students and faculty at Spanish Fork High School.
