The Boy's Soccer Team ended their season with the most exciting game of the whole season. The Dons squared off against the Salem Skyhawks last Thursday, on their home field, under the lights of the football stadium. The crowd was impressive, loud and so enthusiastic. “ They really helped us play to our full potential,” said Matt Stevens. Salem jumped to the lead early with an own goal, but the Dons quickly answered with a deadly shot by Golden Money. The game continued, and possession changed hands many times. Shortly before the half, Bryan Bies caught the Skyhawk keeper off guard with a long hard shot, penetrating through the keeper’s hands to score a second goal for the Dons. Going into the half with the lead, gave the Dons a much needed confidence boost. Coming out strong in the second half , the Dons kept the regions strongest team from scoring up until Salem was awarded a PK by the officials, tying the game 2 to 2. The Dons and the Skyhawks continued to battle through a heart stopping, double overtime. Exhausted and spent, the two teams left everything out on the field and ended the season with a well earned tie that felt like a victory! The fans played an important role in the game and it was amazing to see so much support for our team. Ten seniors were honored at the game, including: Tanner Holt, Tyson Galovich, Bryan Bies, Austin Stevens, Nate Russell, Eric Alvis, Jared Peterson, Sean Leifson, Golden Money, and Cody Duncan.
