After graduating, many students are still indecisive about where they want to go to college, what they want to major in, and what they really want out of a college experience. This, however, is not the case for SFHS senior James Lengal.

James, who has played baseball for 3 years for SFHS, has signed on with Brigham Young University. When asked about his decision, he stated, “I am very excited for this opportunity because it has always been my dream to play for BYU.”

It is no surprise that Lengal received a scholarship that covers every part of his education except for a portion of housing. Through his dedication and commitment to the sport, James has made his way to the top, sporting two state championship rings. When asked about the upcoming season, James stated, “I am excited for the opportunity to bring home a third title. I can’t think of a better way to end my senior year and start the new chapter of my life playing for BYU.”

James is known for his humility despite his obvious talent. He has the attitude of a champion and has continued to be a key player for Spanish Fork High.

James is grateful for his mom and Coach Shoe for all their support through the years.  “There isn’t a more deserving kid in the world. He is a perfect fit for BYU, and will bring great success to the program there. He has been an outstanding player for us in the past, and will continue that momentum into the upcoming season.” Coach Shoe replied when asked about Lengal.

With the support of his teammates and the community, James starts his last season as a Spanish Fork Don and is read to bring his team to victory.
