Congratulations to Axuray Talbot, Mclain Gordon, and Baylie Sanderson for making the 5A Drill All-State Team. They competed Monday at Taylorsville high school. Each team can select three of their dancers to compete to be selected for the All-State Drill Team. After learning an across the floor and a dance combination, only 21 of 54 girls are selected to be on the All-State team. All three of our Spanish Fork representatives were chosen, which is a major accomplishment! We would like to congratulate these dancers and thank them for representing our school so well!

Our Business and Marketing classes at SFHS strive to give students hands-on experience, real-world application, and valuable skills they can use in order to become successful in a job/career right out of high school. In Mrs. Ford’s Business Office Specialist class, students have the unique opportunity to become Microsoft Office Specialists by taking the industry-recognized MOS exams for Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access. These certifications give students a professional edge by providing globally-recognized industry-endorsed evidence of skills mastery.  Students who earn these certifications will possess a career building block that will get them hired faster, and give them high-growth, advancement, and salary opportunities right out of high school! Spanish Fork High School students have had a great time participating in Utah College Application Week.  The Latinos in Action partnered with the counselors to promote UCAW and make it a school-wide event.  Students participated in a College Scavenger Hunt where students were able to find different QR codes that were hung around the school to find information about different Utah colleges. Students that participated were the recipients of candy and college swag. On Tuesday, students were encouraged to dress in college apparel and also participated in lunchtime activities. Students were able to eat at food trucks, spin a wheel for college swag, play spike ball and Tug-o-war. Wednesday, many students participated in College Tours. Students had the opportunity to visit either Utah State, Snow College, University of Utah, BYU or UVU. Students were able to tour the campus of their selected school and learn more about their application process and the programs available at those schools. Thursday and Friday, Senior students were able to fill out college applications during their English classes. We had representatives from the UofU, BYU, SUU, USU, UVU, and Snow to assist students in filling out their college applications. Dixie, SUU, and Snow College all waived their application fees so that students could apply for those colleges for free. We had a lot of students complete their applications this week which will assure they meet all scholarship and admission deadlines. We have loved celebrating UCAW this week and getting kids excited for their next step after high school!
