Sophomore week was a big success at Spanish Fork High School. It was kicked off with a pizza party. For only two dollars students could get two pieces of pizza and a soda along with a live band, who performed in the gym during lunch. Wednesday, March 24th, 2010 was “hug-a-sophomore day;” all students were encouraged to hug their favorite sophomore. The next activity of the week was the Battle of the Sexes Spirit Bowl. Students of opposite genders competed in the games to see which gender would be named Battle of the Sexes Champion.

Sandra Vergara, a student at Spanish Fork High School, took first place in Region with her Reflections project. The project consisted of a video depicting what beauty is, which was the theme for this year’s Reflections contest. She received a certificate and a medal for winning Region, and will soon advance to the State competition. She said this about winning Region, “I felt really good; when I got the letter I screamed at the top of my lungs.” She was inspired to do her project after reading a book about Philosophy.

CANDACE AT IT AGAIN!

Spanish Fork High School has an internship program like no other. It is great seeing students taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity. It assists students that are not quite sure what they want to pursue in a future career or helps them gain experience in a career field they are interested in. Candace Wride has just completed an internship at Peak’s Therapy here in Spanish Fork. She performed a variety of tasks while interning here. She would observe patient procedures while assisting the physical therapist by getting heat and ice packs.
