On Wednesday, December 16th, the Student Council at SFHS held a lunchtime snowflake activity to increase school unity and spread Christmas cheer. Students were able to enjoy hot cocoa and marshmallows while cutting out paper snowflakes while cutting out paper snowflakes to liven up the school. Bethany Hutchison, one of the students who participated in this activity, said, “The chocolate was superb! It was the best school chocolate I’ve ever had.

On September 17th, Spanish Fork High hosted the annual Christmas Idol competition, which is always a hit among students. There were a variety of acts, ranging from singing to magic tricks. Karianne Nelson attended the event. “I loved it!” said Nelson. “It was super fun.” This opinion was shared by everyone in attendance. Congratulations to CJ Deleo, who won this year’s competition! Everyone be sure to come out to this great event next year!

The Spanish Fork High School National Honor Society had the opportunity to participate in the Sub for Santa program this year. The NHS helped 9 families this year for children in the community that needed help providing Christmas. The families are extremely grateful to be able to get Christmas presents for their kids. The age of the kids ranged from 4 to 14 and we provided them with Christmas presents this year. On Monday, the NHS kids went to the store to purchase all of the items for the kids. The next day we delivered them to the parents of the families.

The jazz band and orchestra at SFHS played many Christmas songs in the school’s main commons last week to announce their concerts that took place on Monday, December 14 and Tuesday, December 15. Many students gathered to listen to the music. Katie Cable, a senior at SFHS said, “It was cool to hear the music being played during lunch.

The choirs at Spanish Fork High School had the opportunity to sing at Temple Square last Thursday, December 17. They sang songs that they performed for their gala in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and the Assembly Hall. Many families of members of the choirs attended as well as people already visiting Temple Square. Bonnie Miller, a junior in Concert Choir said, “I like singing at Temple Square because when we do we are united, it brings us together, and helps us feel the true meaning of Christmas and I love sharing that experience with other people.” Shea Bradshaw conducted the choirs.
