Medical Internship Proves Helpful

The medical field is a place where a passion for science, service, and hard work are all combined. This is exactly what drove Ariel Hanson, a student at Spanish Fork High School, to intern at Hobble Creek Medical Clinic in the pediatrics department. She loves working with the children and the staff. Learning to not only to work one on one with the patients and their parents but how to run tests and perform procedures has helped her to realize that a career in pediatrics is what she truly wants to do with her life.

Can Drive at SFHS

Every day Verona Andrews goes around Spanish Fork High School collecting aluminum cans; and every year, she donates the money she earns from the cans back to SFHS. Now the students of SFHS are doing a can drive in her honor, collecting cans and bringing as many as they can find to the front office. The can drive is also a contest between the seniors, juniors, and sophomores to see which class can donate the most cans. The winner of the can drive will be announced at the end of the week and get an early to lunch on Friday.

It is now that time of year where Spanish Fork High School starts preparation for next year. As part of this, new Student Body Officers must be elected! Hopeful participants at Spanish Fork began putting up signs, handing out memorabilia, and hoping their name would be called at election time. Many ran; and after the first round was narrowed down to 12, they were called together in the library hoping they made the final eight. “It was a lot of fun. We were all in the library eating pizza, watching the nervous laughs of the hopeful future S.B.O’s,” said Max Johnson, a current S.B.O.

This week for many seniors is one of the funnest weeks of high school- except for the last week of school, which seniors don’t have to go to. But this week was senior week. A week in which seniors got to enjoy many fun activities. The biggest activity of them all without a doubt was prom on Saturday. Love a senior day was held on Monday and many seniors enjoyed this day because who doesn’t love to be loved. Tuesday was dress up like a senior citizen day. Many students went all out with this one. On Thursday, it was nacho fiesta day. Everyone in the whole school was invited to this activity.
