Thursday, November 18, Spanish Fork Letterman’s Club had the opportunity to go to East Meadows Elementary school and read to the little kids, K-6th grades. They read to them for about fifteen minutes, and then they played at recess with them. At recess, there were a lot of different activities going on, depending on age and gender. They played for fifteen minutes and then came back to school. This was a great experience for everyone involved. The kids kept asking when they were going to come back.

The Concert Band and the Marching Band came together to put on a beautiful concert for their friends and family. It took place in the Main Gym at 7 o’ clock, and they performed for roughly an hour. The students had been working hard on these pieces since the first week of school, and it was finally time to show off what they had accomplished. Kyle Lowe, a member of the concert band, excitedly explained about his favorite song, a piece from the Phantom of the Opera.

Stomp Out Hunger

In 2008, 49.1 million Americans lived in food insecure households, 32.4 million adults and 16.7 million children lived without food in their homes. These days families don’t have enough money to buy food for their families so they go without. Spanish Fork FFA didn’t like those statistics and wanted to do something about it so they held a food drive on Friday, Nov. 19th. In order to get the High School students better involved in the school food drive, the FFA made it into a competition between the B2 classes.

“Awesome!” “Amazing!” These were just some of the words used to describe the new Harry Potter movie which was recently viewed by the students of Spanish Fork High. Late into the evening of Friday, November 19th, students of all creeds and social backgrounds gathered in unity to witness Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint), and the lovely Hermione (Emma Watson) struggle against the Dark Lord. Hosted by our very own SFHS Book Club, this screening was a roaring success.
