Window in the Workplace

Recently, Spanish Fork High School was lucky enough to have psychologist Dr. Liebing present at Window in the Workplace.  A room packed with students listened as she told them about her experiences going through school and working as a psychologist.  Dr. Liebing compared being a psychologist to reading a mystery novel, “you are trying to figure out this person,” she said.  Many students found that intriguing.  Though it takes many years of schooling to become a psychologist, the rewards can be awesome.

On Tuesday, December 7, an award was given during halftime at the Girls basketball game vs. Timpanogos. This award was the Daily Herald’s Battle for Utah Valley 2010 fall challenge. This was decided by an online voting poll for all of Utah County. Anyone could go on-line and vote for which school they thought had the best spirit for the fall sports; and of course, the Spanish Fork Don’s came out on top! SFHS was awarded a trophy that they can keep until the winter winners are announced.

On Thursday December 2, 2010, the Spanish Fork High School Cross Country team left for California, where they ran the All-West Region Footlocker Race at Mt. San Antonio College. The SFHS Cross Country team shared a charter bus with two other high schools, Salem Hills and Springville. The bus ride was long and arduous; however, it was merely an obstacle in the way of the ultimate goal of racing in the All-West Region Footlocker race. It is a privilege and an honor to compete in the race. Runners from across the country come to participate.
