Hogwarts Takes Over Spanish Fork High School

Hogwarts School briefly took over Spanish Fork High School on Friday, October 18, 2013 as students competed in the first spirit bowl assembly of the year.

The theme was Harry Potter and many of the students dressed up to show spirit for their class. Seniors were Gryffindor, juniors represented Sytherin, sophomores were Huffle Puff, and the faculty and staff were Hogwarts professors. We even had an appearance of the beloved character Hagrid thanks to football coach and financial literacy teacher Kirk Chambers.

Some of the games included Quidditch, or basketball while "riding" on broomsticks, a balloon popping game, relay, races, trivia, and various other games.

Gryffindor took the win but not without a fight. Juniors dominated the trivia portion, sophomores took first in the cheering contest, and the faculty showed everyone up by bringing the biggest wizarding wand. But it wasn't enough to surpass the power of the senior class.

"The school spirit bowls are always my favorite assemblies. They are always so entertaining," said junior Shaneice Novak.
