Ali Skrabut with Painting 180.01 KB

The All – State Art Show, held at the Springville Art Museum, is a show dedicated to displaying the artwork of high school students all across the state of Utah. The All – State Art Show is a difficult show to enter. Each school is allowed a minimum amount of students’ artwork and each student participants’ pieces are not guaranteed a spot in the show. A panel of judges critiques the submitted artwork and decides what will be accepted into the show. One of our very own made it into the show. Ali Skrabut, the only one from Spanish Fork High School to get into the All – State Art Show, was graciously admitted. When asked about her triumph, she said, “I wasn’t even going to enter that painting.” In the beginning, Ali was going to enter a different piece, but was convinced to, instead, enter “Fly Away”. Her piece, “Fly Away,” was also awarded an Honorable Mention in the third Congressional District. Ali’s piece was of a delicate vision of a girl, in flowing garments, on a lavender background. She started the painting wanting to experiment with the color white. Rather than create a monotone color scheme, she wanted to add lots of color to her beautiful dancing figure. In the end, “Fly Away,” was the right choice, for the show and all those who, enjoyed the art exhibit. As a school, we congratulate her success and hope she continues to benefit the community with her amazing artistic talents through her impressive artwork.
