Ballroom Dance Club Has a Ball

The Ballroom Dance Club of Spanish Fork High School held a meeting on Thursday the 27th of January. “Ballroom is a lot of fun. You get to meet new people, learn something new, and exercise at the same time! And it doesn't matter if you have two left feet because someone probably has two right ones,” said Kelsey Coons, the president of the Ballroom Dance Club. What happens in this club is that they do a lot of dances. There is the Waltz, Cha-Cha, Country Swing, and Suicide Squares which are a little bit more American; but they also do some that are more international like the Zimer Atik, or Cumberland Squares. They meet once a month and at the end of their meetings, they’re all out of breath and smiling because everyone had such a great time. “Yeah…it’s a pretty prestigious club,” responded Matthew Christianson, a member of the Ballroom Dance Club. Another member, Margie Covington, also shared her feelings, “I love to dance! It’s super fun to get to learn lots of new dances.” It’s just wonderful to see how a group of teenagers worked together and had so much fun these days.
