The title is what it is! Spanish Fork High School is filled with talent and a great variety of it! On Wednesday, December 15,2010, Spanish Fork High School students were able to participate in a talent competition much like the one seen on television;  America’s Got Talent.  It turned out to be a huge success! Friends and family came to support each participant. Spanish Fork students arrived with songs they had written, and dance moves they made themselves. Chan Staheli, the shows MC and School Spirit leader gave a spirited performance of Michael Jacksons “The Way You Make Me Feel” and kept the show alive. The three judges, Officer Stone, Becky Otteson and Luke Isley gave an American Idol like review of the different performances and argued back and forth with the host. The competitor s were; Serena Peterson, Sarah Lady, Jacob Wahinehookae, Andrew LeMmon, Cameron Banks, Colby Palfreyman, Chan Staheli, Rob Nelson, Kent Staheli, Alan Berreda, Zack Valenzuala, Lydia Money, Ariana, Tiara, Kalo, Lavinia , Meleseini, Mattew Christensen, Jonathan Woodbrey, Golden Money, Austin Lindley, Jordan Daniels, and Dalin Ficklin. The Talents ranged from singing, to playing instruments, to barrel racing, rubix cube and dancing. Each participant received an award from the judges who are faculty members at Spanish Fork High School. Becky Otteson played the role of Susan Osborn, Brad Stone played the role of Piers, and Luke Isely played  the role of Howie Day. Every talent was spectacular!  The judges had a tough decision to make for the top three. Third place was tied between two musically inclined young men, Johnny Woodbrey and Matthew Christiansen. Johnny performed a song and played the piano and Matthew performed a guitar piece from the movie, August Rush. Second place winners sure could move their hips! Ariana Alofipo, Kalolaine Taunauta, Lavinia Tuita, Meleseini Saili, and Tiara Alofipo won second prize with their Polynesian culture dance. The first place award was given to Alan Berreda , who blew the judges away. Becky Ottesen stated, “Your voice is the most dreamy voice! You had me drooling!” Alan sang and played the guitar. He also played the Phantom in the schools play previously this month.  Overall this Talent competition was excellent! It was a great night of excitement and entertainment! Spanish Fork High School has got talent! Prizes and gifts were awarded to the contestants and everyone is looking forward for the next opportunity to perform. The show will be available on the NET, Nebo Educational Television, under the direction of Shane Ferrin.
