The Spanish Fork High Swim team held their annual swimathon fundraising. There were some who did not get pledges, but still participated in the swimathon. The brave souls got in the water for a midnight swim. They went to Springville pool to swim 200 laps (5,000 yards) to raise money for their swim season. Tanner Greenwood was one swimmer who raised close to $400.00 for his team. He said ,“It was awesome to see all the parents, family, friends, and fellow students supporting our team. I would do it again in a heart beat. It was a whole lot of fun just to be there swimming as a team in something that was really hard, and to have everyone stay until the last person had finished. It was a great team building opportunity.” The swimathon was hard, but many people said it was so worth it and that they had a blast. There was another swimmer named Max (William Turner) that described the night as being “Freaken raw!” The swimmers begun their swimathon at 11:00 p.m. and finished at around 2:00 a.m. There were many that were quoted in saying they would do it all again if given the chance.
