Choir Christmas Gala 342.71 KB

On December 14, Spanish Fork High School choirs hosted the annual Christmas Gala. Guests were treated to a scrumptious dessert reception in the front commons of the high school. These tasty treats included catered brownies, éclairs, and hot cider. The decorations were wonderful. There were trees lit with Christmas lights and the ceiling of the main entry was strung with ornaments and garlands. The choir department went to a lot of work to make decorate the school for the Gala. The stage was covered in poinsettias and the auditorium ceiling was strung with snowflakes both big and small. During the concert itself, the choirs performed a number of various Christmas songs including the traditional Silent Night. The choirs performed Silent Night first in German (Stille Nacht) then to close, sang the song again in English with the audience. The Christmas Gala was a tremendous success and there was a lot of positive feedback. The songs sung by the choir really helped to put the audience in the mood of Christmas. At the conclusion of one of the songs, the audience didn’t clap for a good 10 seconds after the end of the song because they didn’t want to destroy the beauty of it. A small child was heard to tell her mother that the song made her “want to cry”.
