SFHS Goes Technological

Students at Spanish Fork High School have more opportunities to use technology than ever before. In fact, many students are checking out portable Chromebook computers to take home with them on a permanent basis. Around 450 students are assigned permanent computers.

"Our goal is to have a 1-to-1 student to portable device ratio by next year," says Principal Dave McKee. "Right now, we have about 1200 portable devices including the ones checked out to students and the ones stationed in portable labs around the school. We're almost at our goal," McKee added.

Having more digital access for students is a priority for SFHS because students understand technology, says McKee. Additionally, teachers and students are learning more techniques to manage learning on the computer. Programs such as Canvas help to do just that.

Learning shoud reach students where they are and that's technology, says McKee.
