The second round of the six rounds that make up the Region 8 Girls Golf schedule was held at the cold, wind-swept Sleepy Ridge golf course on March 28.  Winning the individual portion of the competition was Britni Munter of Spanish Fork.  She did so in convincing fashion, scoring 40 points using the modified scoring format that has been put in place for the girls’ high school golf competitions across the state.   She was followed by Uintah’s Nicole Begay, 37.  In third was Kelsi Jensen of Springville, who scored 35.  Rounding out the top five were Uintah’s Jasmine Meyer, 34; Kaitlynn Hanberg, 33; and Amberly Rich, 33.  Also finishing in a tie for fifth place by tallying 33 was freshman Sabrina Naulu of Spanish Fork.  Other local golfers that played well included Kenzie Beckstrom of S.F. with 30 points and McKenzie Carlson of Maple Mountain, who scored 22.

Through two meets, Uintah leads the Dons in the team standings.  Springville is in third place and they are followed by Maple Mountain, Salem Hills, and Payson.  The girls look to be back in action on Monday afternoon at Hobble Creek.
