On Thursday, March 31st the Lady Dons played big time rival Salem Hills. It was a good start for both teams. It was 0-0 the first two innings till the Lady Dons opened it up in the bottom of the third and scored three runs. After the third inning, they held Salem till the top of the fourth and two scored for Salem to make the score 3-2 for the Lady Dons. Spanish Fork kept pushing to get two more run to push ahead even more, 5-2. During the top of the fifth, the umpires started calling not so good calls and Spanish was struggling to get an out. Kailey Christensen buckled up and adjusted to the situation and threw nothing but strikes to make her defense work their magic. At the bottom of the fifth, the Lady Dons kept at it with their bats. They knew that their bats were going to win this game, till finally Sydney Butler hit a two run home to make the score 8-2. Top of the sixth, Kailey left one hanging and let a solo home run go, but that didn’t affect the Mighty Dons. At the top of the seventh, the Lady Dons shut down Salem, three up and three down to end the game with the final score 8 to 3.
