The Lady Dons Basketball  hosted the Uintah Utes on Tuesday November 22 for their first win of the year. They were ready to begin the season with a win to prove that they have it in them to have a great season. Senior Kelli Hales and Junior Alyssa Brown both had a successful game with 10 points each.

The game began with exchanging buckets early leaving the first quarter with the Dons leading 11-10. By the end of a great second quarter full of intense defense from Seniors Jessica Cable and Kylee Wolf, we led at half time 25-17. Just after the second quarter started you could tell the girls were well on their way towards a win.

The Utes were not going to give up at this point in the game. As the 3rd quarter progressed they made more baskets and we could not manage to stay ahead. We were barely in the lead by two baskets. We relied on great bench players including Toti Viatohi who had great defense and helped the Dons stay in the lead throughout the game.

The fourth quarter was a nail biter as you watched the Lady Dons miss a few critical free throws and keep the game tied for a majority of the quarter. With one minute left the score was tied but we managed to make great shots and pull through with a victory leaving the score 42-38. We are so proud of the great success and hope the best for the Lady Dons in their 2011-2012 basketball season.

Senior Sydney Butler and Junior Laura Lagaisse both contributed with 6 points for Butler and 3 for Lagaisse in this great win against the Uintah Utes.
