The Hope Squad recently visited Spanish Fork Jr. High and Diamond Fork Jr. High, they taught younger students that building self-esteem is essential.  The squad did a handful of activities with eighth graders to help them realize that they are unique in their own ways.  At the same time they tried to help them find similarities in each other to help create long-lasting friendships.

During one activity students were asked to write three things they don’t like about themselves and tape it to their backs face down.  Next, students walked around the classroom and wrote compliments on one another’s papers.  Hopefully this taught the lesson that we are our own worst critic and no one else sees the negative things you see in yourself.  All in all it was a successful trip to help spread hope around our community.
