Finding a Future through Internships

Submitted by deon.youd on

Students at Spanish Fork High School are working in the career of their choice already. They are training through Spanish Fork's internship program.

The students are placed in interships according to what career they want to go into. For example, students who want to go into education will work in elementary schools. A student who wants to do culinary arts will work at Kneaders or another restaurant. Those who want to enter the medical field will go to a doctor's office, hospital, or health care center.

Students with internships will leave school during the day when the job that they are doing will be the most needed. Culinary arts students will go to their internship in the morning when a restaurant is making bread. The students working with doctors will go when the hospital is at its busiest.

Student interns this semester include Colton Baum at an animal clinic, Savannah Kelepolo at the hospital, Karalyn Lewis at Gate House, and Hannah Phillips at Larsen Elementary School.

Students who are interested in completing an internship can get more information from Chris Thomas in the counseling office.
