Extreme Make Over: Spanish Fork High School StylePublished by Anonymous (not verified) on Mon, 08/30/2010 - 10:32
Welcome back to the new and improved Spanish Fork High School. Students were welcomed back this year by a newly remodeled building! This summer many changes were made throughout the school including a new gym, band room, choir and drama departments, and science labs.
The gym was gutted, repainted, and had a new air conditioning system put in. It also had the big windows and ceiling replaced.
The Fine Arts Department had the most changes this year. The choir room and the band room had everything taken out, including the ceiling, the cupboards, and even the carpeting. The contractors redid the structure of the rooms by knocking out the back hall between the band room and the choir room and putting in new practice rooms and offices. The two rooms also have a built in recording system and a new sound system. The dressing rooms in the drama department were redone by adding new counters, a new sink, mirrors and theater lights.
The school as a whole had new ceilings put in and new lighting. The front of the school also received a cover and tables so the students could go outside and eat at lunch.
The improvements have really changed the attitude toward the school; where students weren’t happy before, they now, more than ever, are proud to be Dons.
