Brooke Kramer, a student at Spanish fork High School, is interning at Oak Ridge Elementary and Larsen Elementary. She has been working with the special needs kids as well as resource students helping them read and learn just like everyone else.  Brooke was asked a few questions about herself and her internship, and this is what she said, “I love interning at the elementary schools. I love working with kids and helping them succeed. The best part about getting to work with the kids I work with is that I know it’s helping me to fulfill my future career goal of being a special education teacher. I love being around the kids. I want to make a difference in their lives.” Though that’s not all Brooke gets to do in her internship, she gets to participate in daily activities such as Song and Story time, recess, and Occupational Therapy where in they help students achieve goals they have.  Brooke has found much success and enjoyment in this internship.  She also mentioned her enjoyment with the internship program. She stated, “I love it! You get the chance to decide what your career is going to be as well as help you decide the careers you don’t want, but gives you the chance to expand your career paths.” Brooke is interning everyday during the second period of the school day. She spends Mondays and Fridays at Oak Ridge with the special needs kids, and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at Larsen helping with the resource students. Congratulation to Brooke in her current success with her internships and wish her luck along the line of her career path.
