Book Club Service

On Saturday, December 5th, the SFHS Book Club had an activity where they recorded children’s books on tapes for local elementary schools. These books included some Christmas stories and The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes and Tracker by Gary Paulsen. Through this service project, the Book Club hoped to achieve their goal of helping students of all ages to get excited about books. “I think anytime you can help young readers get hooked on reading, then you’re doing a good thing,” said Mrs. Gardner, the club advisor, about this service project. “It’s one of those service projects anyone can do. Anyone can help another person read better.” The Book Club plans to have more activities throughout the year to help students realize the joy that comes from reading.
