On October 12, 2010, at Maple Mountain High School, the Spanish Fork High School Cross Country team competed with the Payson, Springville, Uintah, and Maple Mountain High Schools for the Region Championships. Although, Maple Mountain High School brought home most of the awards, Spanish Fork Cross Country, taking fourth overall, raced to win. Each runner ran to their best abilities and beat their personal record from Pre-Region.

On Wednesday, October 13, Spanish Fork’s senior class had attended College Days hosted by SFHS counselors and Utah Higher Education Association. They had the opportunity to attend three thirty-five minute seminars from any Utah college of their choice. Each college had a representative that gave information about various college topics. They talked about housing, activities and tuition. However, scholarships were the greatest concern of most students. College Day was very beneficial to students.

On October 12, 2010, Spanish Fork High School choir kicked off the new school year with their first concert. The concert featured various choir groups, including the Singers, Concert Choir, and Mosaic along with the Don’s Chorus. All groups performed exceptionally well, singing folk songs from around the world. The Singers performed a song called Fifteen Finns, a song about fifteen Viking raiders who went raiding, but lost their lives to the fair maiden who fought them with axes and knives.

On Monday, October 5th, Tailyr Peterson, Claire Stodtmeister, and Whitney Nielson, a part of Spanish Fork Drill Team, were chosen by their fellow teammates to go up to Taylorsville High School and try out to be a part of the 4A all-state drill team. Girls from all of the high school teams across Utah came together to learn a short routine and audition for the all-state team. The audition went very well. Both Tailyr and Claire along with girls from across the state of Utah, made the team and will have a chance to perform at the 4A basketball state championship game together.

October 8, 2010, Spanish Fork High School held another Spirit Bowl which consists of numerous competitions between sophomores, juniors, seniors and faculty. Among these competitions were musical chairs, crab soccer, dance off, cup stacking, and a relay race. In previous years, a tug-o-war was a competition but got replaced this year with the dance off. The Spirit Bowl started off with each class cheering as loudly as they could, showing their school spirit. According to Golden Money and Brooke Kramer, the seniors, class of 2011, were the loudest and started off the annual competition strong.

Spanish Fork High school has been working hard to improve their art work and to show off their hard work. They will be participating in the 5th Annual Peteetneet Gallery Juried High School Art Show. Their art work will be hung for six weeks in October and November. The art show will be judged, which gives the students a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in entering competitive shows, and displaying their art with great confidence. They will be judgedby presentation and judges will decide what makes the over-all "look".

Alyssa Wright, a senior at Spanish Fork High School, is doing an internship at the Provo Attorney General’s Office. She’s doing it during the morning hours. Most of her job is doing lots of filing and data entry. She goes to court and spends time with attorneys to gain experience concerning her career. She listens to conferences and learns about different parts of the law. A response was given by Mrs.

Elmo Keck, a former SFHS choir teacher, will be a guest conductor at the SFHS Fall Choir Concert on Oct. 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Spanish Fork High School auditorium. Students have been preparing for this concert that will highlight some of the songs they will be singing on tour this year. This is the first time that Mr. Keck has been back to Spanish Fork High School to be a part of the award-winning excellence of SFHS choirs. The choirs will be performing an entertaining array of folksongs from around the world.

On Monday, September 27th, Matt Schron, an FBI agent, visited Spanish Fork High School. He came during lunch hour and spoke a little bit about his job and the essence of it. Gustavo Rocha, a student at SFHS, attended the presentation. He says, “I was interested in the FBI, because of my interest in law enforcement. Plus, I got detention credit, so why not?” According to Gustavo, there was a lot that was talked about in the presentation. Matt Schron showed many videos showing a variety of jobs that an FBI agent does.
